What if everything you’ve been told about nutrition is wrong?
BIG HINT: It is! Yup, I said wrong. And it’s damaging people’s health, even when they think they’re eating healthy.
Here’s the truth: the study of modern nutrition is in its infancy. It really started in the mid-1980’s, so it’s only about 30 years old. That’s why diet and nutrition recommendations change every five minutes. It’s so new, they’re still trying to figure out what’s what and how it works.
Compare that to Chinese nutrition. The system of Chinese nutrition started and was written down over 2,000 years ago. That’s not a typo – two thousand years. Chinese nutrition is older than the Great Wall of China. It’s been used for all this time throughout China and Asia.
So we’re talking about 30 years versus 2,000 years.
Now consider this: The U.S. is the most obese country in the world, after about five tiny Pacific islands. And chronic disease is rampant. People are overweight, unhealthy, and suffering, all because they’re eating the Standard American Diet (abbreviated S.A.D., and it is!).
Now compare that to countries that follow a traditional Asian diet. They have some of the lowest obesity rates in the world, and very low rates of chronic disease.
Hmmm…. clearly there’s something we can learn here.
And no, it doesn’t mean you have to eat Chinese or Asian food. 🙂
